WALTER PILIÉ, COUNCILMAN, DISTRICT III, is a resident of District III residing in Destrehan for the past 37 years. He is married to Fran Giurintano Pilié and they are the proud parents of two children; Emile Joseph Pilié and Lauren Rome, and three grandchildren; Lily, Luke, and Malcolm.

He is a Jesuit High School Graduate, a Veteran of the Louisiana National Guard serving as part of the 141st Field Artillery and 225th Engineer Battalion, and attended the University of New Orleans where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He began his professional career at Petro-Marine Engineering, where he worked as a Design Engineer and Project Engineer; he then moved on to Autocan, a subsidiary of Camco Oil Tools Co rising from the position of Design Engineer to VP of Engineering; he joined W.H. Linder & Associates, Inc., as a Project Engineer then owner/partner and VP before the company’s sale to Jacobs Engineering where he took on the role as a Project Leader, in-house consultant, and project manager for Shell’s Deepwater oil and gas projects, until his retirement in 2015.

Walter is a member of the Lake Rosemound Association, the Lake Rosemound Dredge-Abatement Committee, the Lake Rosemound Dam Safety Committee, and the St. Charles Parish East Bank Citizens’ Drainage Committee. He served on the Bonnet Carre’ Spillway Citizens’ Committee and was an alternate board member on the St. Charles Parish Zoning Board of Adjustments.

He is also a District Captain for the Convention of States Action in LA House District 56, a member of the La Citizen’s Advocacy Group, La Sportsman’s Coalition, National Rifle Association, National Association for Gun Rights, and a founding member of the Stop Our Flooding Facebook site.

Walter is Chairman of the Operations, Maintenance, and Construction Management Committee; a member of the Special Projects/Public Safety, Health and Environmental Committee; Legislative Committee; Contract/Finance and Administrative Committee; and Hurricane Protection Projects Committee.

He is currently serving as a member of the Sunset Drainage District - Board of Commissioners; and is an Ex-Officio member of the St. Charles Parish Planning & Zoning Commission.

Walter is a member of the Louisiana Police Jury Association and the National Association of County Officials.
